Opportunity Academy is a youth leadership and development nonprofit based in San Diego, designed to equip middle and high school students with the tools, support, and opportunities to lead confidently and engage in their communities. We serve youth of all backgrounds and life experiences, with an intentional focus on uplifting girls and young women from disenfranchised communities.
While athletics serve as one pathway to engagement, our model extends far beyond sport. We provide a holistic experience that integrates leadership development, social-emotional learning, therapeutic support, civic engagement, financial literacy, and career exposure.
Through a cohort-based approach, we intentionally create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, strengthen their voice, and develop the skills needed to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
We are currently in our pilot phase, working with a small, intentional cohort of youth alongside a founding group of dedicated volunteers. This stage allows us to build with purpose, learn alongside our participants, and refine a model designed for long-term, scalable impact.

Mission Statement
Opportunity Academy develops confident, capable young leaders by equipping youth with the tools, support, and opportunities to engage in their communities and shape their future.
Through a holistic model grounded in leadership development, mentorship, therapeutic support, and civic engagement, we prepare young people to grow into contributors and change-makers. While athletics serve as a powerful entry point, they are just one of many pathways we use to foster connection, confidence, and personal growth.
