Youth Impact Challenge
What Is the Youth Impact Challenge?
The Youth Impact Challenge is a student-led community impact program for young people ages 13 to 18 across San Diego County. Students identify a real problem in their community, design a solution, and launch a fundraising campaign to bring it to life.
Opportunity Academy matches every dollar students raise, up to $500 per project. No experience needed, just a passion for your community and a willingness to show up. Any student in San Diego County can apply.
How the Matching Works
When you are accepted into the Youth Impact Challenge, you will have 30 days to run a community fundraising campaign. Raise money from people you know, and Opportunity Academy matches every dollar you raise, up to $500 for your project.
To qualify for the match, your campaign needs at least 15 unique donors. The more community members you bring in, the bigger your impact, and the more OA can invest alongside you.
Who Can Apply
The Youth Impact Challenge is built to break down barriers and meet young people where they are. You do not need to be enrolled in school, have a perfect GPA, or have any prior experience to apply.
You are eligible if you are ages 13 to 18, live or go to school in San Diego County, and are committed to making a difference in your community. School enrollment is not required. We welcome youth from all backgrounds and circumstances.
