Opportunity Academy is a San Diego youth leadership and development nonprofit in its pilot phase. We are strengthening our founding board as we build an organization that expands access, mentorship, and opportunity for young people.
Why board service matters
Directors help safeguard OA’s mission, provide strategic guidance, strengthen governance and stewardship, and support responsible growth. Board members bring different perspectives and experience to decisions that affect youth and families.
Who we hope to welcome
We welcome community-minded leaders who believe talent is everywhere and opportunity should be, too. Experience in governance, finance, fundraising, education, youth development, mental health, athletics, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership can strengthen the board’s work.
Board Chair & President
Katie Ryckman works in Global Partner Marketing at Microsoft and brings leadership, athletics, coaching, and mentoring experience to OA.
